Footbridge over Soča in Bovec
Our bridge resembling Julius Caesar’s bridge to cross the Rhine was built approx. 2.000 years later on the River Soča, Slovenia.
The bridge was built for movie The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Working on a bridge based on a 2.000 year old concept was interesting, challenging and fun.
The Soča River was temporarily diverted to allow the building of the bridge, which had to withstand a run of some 300 soldiers. A 60 meters wooden structure was completely removed after the filming, leaving no trace behind in a peaceful valley full of natural wonders.
