VIKTOR MARKELJ - BRIDGE OVER SAVA RIVER IN BELGRADE
Within the World Engineering Forum the Slovenian Chamber of Engineers awarded VIKTOR MARKELJ with the International Engineering Achivement Award for his indispensable contribution in Bridge over Sava River in Belgrade project.
˝Together with his expirienced colleagues from Ponting and Peter Gabrijelčič, VIKTOR MARKELJ created a unique solution crossing the Sava River with a cable-stayed bridge totaling 967 m in length and 45 m in width.
The professional career of the bridge designer VIKTOR MARKELJ, crowned by the majestic bridge in Belgrade, can best be described by the Latin theorem - Per aspera ad astra (Through the rough to the stars).˝
