The construction of the Foot and Cycle Bridge in Irča vas well underway

The construction of the footbridge in Irča vas is progressing successfully on both banks of the river Krka near Novo mesto, Slovenia. Construction of new stress ribbon bridge began in September 2021 by the contractor JV CGP Novo mesto and Freyssinet Adria. Meanwhile all 46 superstructure precast segments were casted.

The bridge convinced the jury with its structural concept, transparency and peaceful integration into the natural environment.

The bridge is designed as a stress-ribbon bridge with 120 m span. The bridge superstructure is 4 meter wide and 42 cm thick. The bridge is expected to be completed by winter.

It is the second ongoing project for Ponting and Pipenbaher Consulting Engineers in the Municipality of Novo mesto, next to the foot and cycle bridge Loka-Kandija. This bridge is expected to be completed by winter as well.
