Dr. h.c. Marjan Pipenbaher participated in the round table at the Megra fair
Dr. h. c. Marjan Pipenbaher participated in a round table discussion titled "Construction at the crossroads, where we are and where we are going" that took place yesterday at the Megra construction trade fair in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia. The round table was organized by GZS - Chamber of Construction and Construction Materials Industry on the opening day of the 34th International Construction trade Fair.
In the discussion about the future of construction, the participants concluded that increased continuity and predictability of investments, more effective site planning, and less regulatory barriers are essential for the industry's stable growth.
The round table also included Miran Gajšek, State Secretary Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning; Ožbej Marc, CHRO at Kolektor CPG; Boris Sapač, Board member of Pomgrad; Črtomir Remec, director of SSRS and president of IZS; and Zoran Simčič, president of the builders section at OZS. GZS Chief Economist Bojan Ivanc prepared the analytical introduction. Slavko Bobovnik moderated the round table.
Dr. h. c. Marjan Pipenbaher (1957) is a Partner, Managing Director and a Senior Bridge designer of Ponting Bridges and Pipenbaher Consulting Engineers. His notable bridges include Pelješac Bridge (2022), Nissibi Bridge over Euphrates in Turkey (2015), Millennium Bridge in Podgorica (2006), the biggest railway viaduct in Israel (2017) and Viaduct Črni Kal in Slovenia (2004). He is a winner of many awards for his engineering expertise and a lecturer that passes the knowledge to future generations at University of Maribor.
